D 1.2. Report based on FBS, HBS and WHO data describing the dietary habits and the mortality patterns of the BSAC.

The report describes food and nutrient-based dietary patterns in the six participating countries (Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russian Federation,Turkey and Ukraine) as these were depicted from two sources of nutrition monitoring and surveillance data: the Food and Agriculture Organisation assembled food balance sheets (FBS) and the household budget surveys (HBS) systematically conducted by National Statistical Offices in country representative population samples. Moreover, the dietary information is jointly described with mortality patterns using data retrieved from the World Health Organisation databases.
